About the Webinar:
Blood cancers are a heterogenous group of disorders with very variable prognosis. Correct diagnosis is the key. Treatment options have significantly changed in the last decade and prognosis has improved significantly, for most patients. Living with the disease, survivorship and integration into the community remains integral to success.
Learning Objectives:
1) Describe the different types of blood cancers.
2) Identify national and local blood cancer incidence and mortality.
3) Review the historical and current landscape of blood cancers.
4) Illustrate the impact of blood cancer survivorship.
Speaker
Dr. Vaziri is triple board-certified in medical oncology, internal medicine and hematology. After earning his medical degree from the Aga Khan University School of Medicine, Dr. Vaziri completed his residency in internal medicine. He completed his medical oncology and hematology fellowship at the University of Nebraska Medical Center (UNMC) and a fellowship in infectious diseases from the University of Texas Health Sciences. Dr. Vaziri is a member of the American Society of Clinical Oncology, the Nebraska Medical Association and the Lancaster County Medical Society. He is also on the Board of Directors for the Nebraska Oncology Society.
